About this coffee:
(From Us)

This special lot comes from Finca San Antonio Amatepec in the mountain range of El Bálsamo, Quetzaltepec, El Salvador, where the rare Maragogipe variety grows slowly and beautifully at 1,200 meters. Maragogipe—sometimes called Elephant Beans—is known for its unusually large seeds and its elegant, almost old-world character. It’s also a challenging varietal to grow, which means you don’t see it very often. When a farm commits to it, they’re pouring a lot of care into every harvest.

This coffee is dried naturally with a 48-hour extended fermentation, which adds a gentle touch of fruitiness and a little bit of funk.

We love coffees like this because they remind us how unique and expressive coffee can be—both comforting and a little adventurous. This one invites you to slow down, sip, and enjoy something truly uncommon.

(From Little Waves)
We’ve admired the Boza family since 2018 and began purchasing their coffees in 2020—from both Finca San Antonio and Finca San José (led by Maritza Boza). It was sisters Daniella and Karla who first put Finca San Antonio on our radar. The story of a generational farm led by two sisters and their dad at that time instantly caught our attention.

When our timelines aligned we began buying their natural coffees, first from the sisters and their father, and later from their aunt. This year, Daniella took full charge of a small portion of the harvest and processing after completing a year-long course on post-harvest methods, learning the art of seed-to-cup. She discovered that experimental processing doesn’t require fancy equipment—just careful attention to detail and a commitment to following protocols with precision.

We feel so lucky to share the results of her first independent processing experiments with you. This Maragogipe sings!

Our dream has always been to support women producers in their efforts to elevate their coffees—and one day, to see a woman-produced coffee take first place on the WBC competition stage. We’re so proud of Daniella for believing in herself and trusting her process, built on years of experience and a deep family legacy in coffee.
